ADVOCACY IN ACTION HEROES & HEROINES
My interest in commercializing nonprofit advocacy work comes from my belief that there are many opportunities for us to integrate the idea that advocacy is worthy, valuable activity that, if good enough for the sick or needy, is also good enough for the healthy and involved.
I am writing a series of novels and other books that seek to develop James Bond-like characters who use their community interests, organizing skills and worldwide networks to address the same kinds of exciting stories we go to the movies to watch.
I believe that we simply need heroes and heroines who demonstrate for us what Advocacy In Action looks like.
You can see more about this idea (and hopefully buy my first book) by checking out my Balance of Empowerment, a book that draws its name from a Tom Clancy book called the Balance of Power. Let me know what you think of the idea. The first installment should be posted in September 2005 with later installments and future stories to follow.
